Chocolate, chocolate chocolate! It is everywhere at this time of year, isn’t it!?

If you are like most of my clients, you will already be wondering how to still enjoy your Easter but not wreck all your consistency and hard work until now…

Here are two deliciously sweet treats to take to your Easter get-togethers! Go ahead enjoy a piece or two and know you are not consuming any preservatives, artificial additives, refined sugars or saturated fats.

CHOC PROTEIN BALLS

Ingredients:

150g almond or nut butter
2 scoops of Chocolate protein powder (I love PranaOn Protein)
120g rolled oats
2 medjool dates chopped
1/2 cup Sugar-Free Avalanche Drinking Chocolate
1/2 cup cranberries
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup unsweetened-almond milk

Blend oats in blender until a smooth crumb is formed.
Mix oats, protein powder, chocolate powder, cranberries and dates in a bowl.
Add to the bowl nut butter, water and milk and mix until it forms firm balls.
Roll mixture in to small balls then roll in fine shredded coconut if desired.
Store in fridge.

VANILLA CRACKLE

Ingredients:

1 cup dehydrated buckwheat groats
1 cup currents
1 cup shredded coconut
3/4 cup coconut oil, melted
3 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla paste/essence
pinch of himalayan salt

Combine all ingredients in bowl and stir well with wooden spoon.
Line a slice tin with greaseproof paper. Spread mixture out evenly in to tin and press down firmly.
Place in fridge to set then cut in to squares.

Enjoy!!!

My biggest TIP on surviving any “get-together” but still enjoying yourself is to go prepared! Take plates to share that you know you want to eat, that are nourishing and still yummy and you know what is in them!
