“It’s cheaper to eat junk food these days!”

Really? You really think at the end of the day after consistently choosing junk food over good quality fresh food, a person is going to be in a good enough state of health that they won’t need any health care, medication, allied health assistance???

I over heard this statement recently in a cafe. It blew my mind that people can actually think about making a choice about their health based on “cost” of food in the short term not “cost of their health in the long term…

There are a lot of fresh foods still out there, which I personally eat on a daily basis which are not “extra expensive” and do not send me broke on a weekly basis.

Here are some of my top choices for fresh “fit”  and affordable food that is particularly good at burning fat and contributing to an increase in energy all day long!

1. Oats

2. Eggs

3. Nuts

4. Avocado

5. Green veggies – broccoli, kale, cabbage, bockchoi, green beans

6. Cottage cheese

7. Sweet Potato

8. Chicken Breast (or protein rich foods)

Remember, our body is the only place we have to live. We only get one. Respect it.

Educate yourself. Ask questions. Make choices with your long term health in mind.

Be kind to yourself; in mind and body.
